Sincerely, Sloane Episode #12 | Angela Hill ✨

The power of packing a punch!

On this week’s episode of Sincerely, Sloane, I’m joined by Angela Hill, the first Black American female in UFC. This episode is dedicated to my mom and dad, the two biggest UFC fans and the individuals responsible for introducing me to this world. I especially hope they enjoy this week’s episode 🤣

Angie started out taking Muay Thai classes with her husband to stay fit as a 24-year-old newlywed as she worked towards a career as an illustrator. Just a few years later, she was a pro fighter holding her own against the best fighters in the world. Her career progression, and the lessons of self-confidence and power she’s learned along the way, show that anything is possible - no matter your age or size.

We also go on a very deep dive into the physical sacrifices and toll that weight fluctuations and fight prep takes, particularly on the female body. We all think of the obvious blood and broken bones, but there is so much more that goes into it. I’m glad Angie was so transparent and we were able to have this discussion athlete to athlete.
